Lauren, I like your minimalist blogging. Very IKEA. Easy to take in. Nice blog. Funny.

Aaron's comment - "flat packed, faux-swedishness to me" - Aaron, could that be a dig at IKEA products being sourced not from Sweden, but from Turkey and ... shock horror ... China? The flatpackedness of them I think is great - sure Ingvar Kamprad (IKEA founder, I read his biography. The IK of IKEA are his initials, then the E is the name of his family farm's and the A is his town)... where was I before those parenthesese? Yes. IK chose flat pack purely for $$$ reasons, but the related environmental and aesthetic benefits are not diminshed by those. Is it the economic rationalism of it that tastes like evil in Aaron's mouth?

Every single product is designed in Sweden. The design branch is in Stockholm, or very near it. Then they're made in the place that can make them in bulk for the best price to pass on to customers... I sound like an ad don't I?* :p And the flat-packing makes transporting cheaper for the company (more boxes in a container) and for the customer (I can take it home now) alike.

*OK, yes, I do work there now.
